When Sparks Fly on the 4th of July
With the 4th of July coming up next week, we thought it would be fitting to do a little #Throwback to an extra special wedding, my wedding! For those new around here I’m Tori, 1/3 of Mimosas & Moonshine.
My husband is active duty Coast Guard so we knew right away we wanted a Patriotic element; but, we also wanted to tie in some Coast Guard Pride and our love for the water with some nautical elements.
We were lucky enough to have our wedding at my husbands grandparents house, right on the lake! It was extra special for us since we had so many memories together at that very spot.
Nautical touches could be seen throughout the ceremony and reception. Including in these custom signs.
Building a Temporary platform over the lake allowed for the illusion that the water was infinite and made our handcrafted arbor even more beautiful.
Another unique thing about our wedding was that the bridesmaids got to pick their own dresses! With the only direction being "long" and a "neutral color" each bridesmaid got to present their unique personality and wear something they were comfortable in. Don't they all look fabulous?!
Fun fact: The unique bridesmaids' bouquets were made entirely of baby's breath and were a fun craft for the girls over champagne in the morning.
Vintage pieces were a must to include for my wedding. How sweet is this pic of us on our blue sette?
P.S. What Florida bride doesn't get married in monogrammed Jack Rogers?
Mis-matched vintage glassware and dishes gave the reception a classy touch of red white and blue, after all, it was the 4th of July!
Speaking of the 4th of July, it just wouldn't be right to have a wedding without a fireworks show and a sparkler send off...right?!
Have inspiration for other patriotic brides? We love to hear from you! Leave us a comment below.
We hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July, and Happy Anniversary baby!
